1. Trick the mind
Forget diet denial: Try adding foods to your diet instead of taking away. Find a way to incorporate healthy foods you really love, and your body also loves. Replace your bag of chips with some delicious fruits or veggies. (frozen grapes are divine!) Try to add in Opposed to taking away. This way it makes for a challenge and a healthy lifestyle, rather than the feeling of missing something you love. And don't forget to add in something physical, too.
- Get Out And Go Walking
Walking is a really good way to stay in shape. Getting up and getting active even for short periods of time are beneficial. When the weather is nice out it can also be quite therapeutic. If you’re a homebody, but still want to get your heart rate up the list below shows alternatives.
• Try following a dance or Zumba on TV/ YouTube
• Walk or run up and down the stairs
• Sweep the drive or rake the leaves instead of using a leaf-blower.
• Turn up the music and get your heart rate up the next time you mop or vacuum. It all counts. If you could incorporate 30 minutes of constant moving to your daily routine, you will see a difference.
3. Find healthier alternatives to the food you already love
One of the easiest ways to loose weight without feeling like you’re changing your whole life around, is finding alternatives. More often times than not they make healthier choices for your food. The Halo Top ice cream is a perfect example. It tastes just like any other ice cream, but it is not nearly as bad as regular ice cream. They even make things like pizza with reduced cheese. Or In-N-Outs protein style burger. There is always a healthier option to your favorite food!
4.Water water water!
Do you ever overstuff on food during meals? Try drinking a glass of water before each meal. This will allow you to decrease your intake, due to the semi full water belly. This helps with controlling how much you consume during one sitting. Not to mention, drinking water quenches your thirst, so you won’t feel tempted to drink sugar filled pop. Water has a ton of health benefits. “German researchers found that drinking six cups of cold water a day (that's 48 oz.) can raise resting metabolism by about 50 calories daily—enough to shed five pounds in a year.” Crazy right from just drinking water?!
